Aravalem Waterfalls

Aravalem waterfalls are reached after leaving from the Rudreshwar temple and downward the staircase one can look the magnificent waterfall in the North Goa and it is situated in Bicholim taluka. It is at a distance of 2 kilometer from the small town of Sanquelim.

This waterfall is flaking the cheerful shiny showers of it and it is extraordinary at some stage in the monsoon season, when the river is in spate. The stunning fall, with a head of about 70 feet, forms a considerable lake at the base, which is the main attraction to seasoned swimmers.

This waterfall is best viewable in full flux and just after the bountiful monsoon. At a Rudreshwar temple, there is a yearly Shivratri fair, which is the main occasion of celebration in the month of February or March. The Aravalem Caves or also well known as Pandava caves, located close to this place are four caves with a Shivalinga in each, and these all are worshipped here.

Dudhasagar Falls

Dudhasagar Falls located on the east border of Goa and Karnataka. These are the really magnificent waterfalls and it flow down about 600 meters. These are the most extraordinary at some stage in the monsoon or just after the monsoon in the month of October to December. The name Dudhasagar means the sea of milk is derived from the white bubbles which force the water to create forming pools along its way.

This is the second uppermost waterfall in India and it is located in the tropical forest. It also lies on the eastern border of Goa. The trains via Margao pass right over the waterfall. The waterfalls are best viewable after the monsoon in between October and December. Right up to April also there is much water to make your visit valuable. One can easily visit this place by train as a small train stop at the waterfall.

Small and a vertical path take you down to the main viewing area, a natural pool. It is allowed to be there for 3 hours and this time is counting your rest time. The forest road has to cross many rivers and this is the reason why this road is open in the non-rainy season only. There is a Devil's Canyon at a distance of 18 kilometer from this waterfalls and it is the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and also worth visiting.

Kesarval Springs

Kesarval springs are located at the bottom of Verna-Cortalim flat terrain in the Quelossim town. This is a delightful spring and mostly famous for the medicinal properties. It appears from tough and dense rocks and also the people take bathe in this water are convinced of the medicinal properties of this lake.

Mayem Lake

Mayem Lake is bordered with the rising and falling green hills and it is one of the perfect picnic spot in this area. This lake is located in the south of Bicholim and close to the Narve village. One can get attracted by the boating facilities over here. Both the Mayem Lake and Saptokeshwar temple with the nearby Narve springs can be covered in just a half day from Panaji city. It is having a good quality housing services in cottages. Boating on the lake is available and the pedal boats may not appeal, and the setting is very eye-catching.
