Pernem
Pernem is also pronounced as Pedne in Goa. It was surrendered to the Portuguese in the year 1788, and so it is from the latest territories which have to be added to area in the Portuguese control. Now days it is a small market town and which is well known for the three landmarks.

St. Joseph's Church
St. Joseph's Church is situated in the center part of the town. It is a brightly painted and white coloured church located on the hill and it has Christ statue. It also has forecourt and inscription on it in Latin saying that, 'Christ reigns over all'. There is a date written on the central gable and it is 1864. It has two towers and one of them is the belfry.
Shri Morajaee Temple at Morjim
Shri Morajaee temple located at the Morjim in Pernem taluka is an ancient historical temple and it is situated in the natural surroundings. There is a main festival named 'Kalas Utsav' and this festival is celebrated in each three, five, seven or nine years.
The festival is started from the beginning of Phalgun Shuddha Panchami and then the continuous seven days after this day is the huge religious and cultural event, in which all the Goa people from the places like Sindhudurg, Karwar gather in a large crowd. Also some other festivals are celebrated here like Dussehra, Gudi Padwa and annual Zatra namely divzam and ghodemodni.
Sapteshwar Bhagvati Temple at Mandrem
Sapteshwar Bhagvati Temple at Mandrem is located in Pernem Taluka and at a distance of 17 kilometer from Mapusa. There are totally five temples in this complex. The main temple is of Shri Sapteshwar and Bhagavati and the remaining temples are of Satpurush, Narayan and Ravalnath namely. There are festivals like Bhajani Saptah, Dassehra and Zatra are celebrated.
Shri Shantadurga
Shri Shantadurga is a temple is located at Dhargal in Pernem and it is at a distance of 14 kilometer from Mapusa. In Bardez all other temples were being destroyed by the Portuguese, the idol of Goddess was shifted from this place to Sanqueiim.
In the year 1550 AD the idol of this Goddess was again moved to Dhargal in Pernem Taluka, which also comes in the part of Sawantwadi principality. There is a zatra of the Goddess and it is held in the month of December. This is a temple with the awesome natural surrounding.
Shri Bhagavati
Shri Bhagavati is in Pernem Taluka and it is located at a distance of 28 kilometer from Panaji. It is situated juts below the church and on the immediate north there is a main road. This temple is more than 500 years old. One can like the entrance of this temple as there are two life size elephants made up of black stone situated on the entrance at both the side.
The idol of the Goddess Bhagavati is with eight hands named as Asthbhuja and is in standing position on a high pedestal and so it looks very impressive in appearance. There is a celebration of Dussehra from Ashwin Shuddha Pratipada to Poornima and in these says more than 25,000 devotees gather in this temple.
Shri Bhagavati Temple at Parshem
Shri Bhagavati Temple at Parshem is located at a distance of 7 kilometer from Pernem and is in Pernem Taluka. This complex has total five temples and main temple is of God Shri Bhagavati and the remaining temples are of Shri Dev Bhivangi, Shri Sateri and Shri Dev Ravalnath.
The Shri Dev Bhivangi temple is having two Deepstambhas and both are unique. There are two main festivals held here namely the annual Zatra and Dassehra.
