Vasco-Da-Gama

Vasco-Da-Gama or also popularly known as Vasco lie in between the airport Dabolim and the principal harbor, Mormugao. There is a Pilot Point at a distance of one kilometer before Mormugao, ther is a ruined fort, which is helpful in viewing Dona Paula beach, the harbor and the seat the Zuari River.

Vasco Da Gama is one of the busy industrial towns and it has a seedy feel about itself, and it is not helped by the well-known red light district. Many travelers bother to proceed further from a new station at Margao taking over as the main rail hub and reach this town.

It is a passenger railway terminus in the Central Goa branch. Mormugao is the principal commercial port of this state and it is one of the few natural harbors in India in northwest and located at a distance of 4 kilometer. There is a railway connecting this place with Castle Rock on the West Ghats with Ananyaka Jungle Camp and its traditional huts.

Actually there is nothing remained on the Marmagao Fort located on the south headland of Mormugao Bay. This town is known as Vasco da Gama, in honor of the searching the sea route to teeming riches of India, the spick and span city. It is a geometrically laid out city and now days it is growing fast and so one can see many multi-storied buildings there.

It is also a rail terminus of visitors coming to Goa and also an airport of Dabolim is near from this city. There is a Mormugao harbor and it helps to have same importance to this place as of Panjim. The Portuguese built modern Aerodrome, bridge over the Sal River, the basic roads and Radio Station, when the large export duties began to coffers.

Betul

Betul is one of the very well known and major fishing villages on the narrow peninsula occupied by The Leela Palace. This village is having very much greenery as it is full of jackfruit, papaya, banana and the coconut palms trees.
